Maps and Routes

You choose: 8 miles, with stops at Edgewood Park and Beaver Pond? 20 miles, connecting West Rock, Sleeping Giant, and East Rock? 40 miles, with a visit to Lighthouse Park? Click on the maps below for additional detail.

Rock to Rock begins at Common Ground (358 Springside Avenue - directions), at the base of West Rock Park, and finishes at College Woods at East Rock Park. Along the way, we stop at Beaver Pond Park and Edgewood Park.

We plotted our 8-mile route with riders of all ages and abilities in mind. It's flat, safe, and fun -- and makes use of many of our city's best cycling resources. Get more advice for riders under age 18.

Looking for a bigger challenge? Our 20-mile route travels from West Rock, to Sleeping Giant, to East Rock. Serious cyclists can also take detours to the summits of West Rock and East Rock and the beginning and end of the ride.

In 2012, we add a third 40-mile route for those up for an even more serious ride.

These longer, more challenging options are suitable for riders in good physical condition, ages 14 and up.

If you are riding with young children, and think the full route isn't within reach, feel free to join us at Common Ground, and travel to Edgewood Park or Beaver Pond Park. The ride from Beaver Pond back to Common Ground is relatively short and simple for riders who want to leave the group at that point.
